Maternal Maternal Line

Catherine Shupe was born on October 23, 1824. She was one of five children born to Henry Shupe and Susanna Overholt. About 1845 Catherine married Joseph S. Hough. Catherine and Joseph were the parents of Susan, Elizabeth, Charlotte Ann, William H., Lawrence S., Linley L., Sarah Elma and Josephine. Catherine was a member of the United Brethern church. Catherine died on July 7, 1887.

Henry Shupe was born on February 11, 1799 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was one of eight chidren born to Lawrence Shupe and Catherine White. Henry married Susanna Overholt on September 27, 1822. Henry and Susanna were the parents of Catherine, John, Samuel, Anna and Jacob. Henry's occupation was that of a farmer and he was a member of the Lutheran church. Henry died on December 25, 1880 and is buried in Hoffman Cemetery, Smithton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
Lawrence Shupe was born on January 24, 1763. Lawrence married Catherine White and they were the parents of Henry, David, Moses, Poly, Sallie, Elizabeth, Susanna and Jacob. Lawrence died on July 24, 1833.

Catherine White was born on October 24, 1766 and died on January 25, 1850. Catherine's father's first name is unknown and her mother is Eve unknown last name. Eve was born on March 26, 1743 and died on March 26, 1829.
