Dorcas Miller
was born in 1802 in Maryland. She is one of ten children born
to John Miller and Jane unknown last name. On April
13, 1823 Dorcas and William Boltin
were married by Andrew Zeller in Montgomery County, Ohio.
Dorcas and William were the parents of Rezin, Mary, Henry S.,
Isaac, Philip and Morrison. On September 27, 1830 William and
his wife Dorcas, of Darke County, Ohio, sold land in the Cincinnati
Land District for $200.00 to Isaac Belue of Darke County,
Ohio; recorded July 11,1834. According to the 1850 Federal census,
on November 25, 1850 Dorcas was 48 and living in Richland Township,
Darke County, Ohio. Dorcas died on February 25, 1856 and is buried
in Beamsville Cemetery, Beamsville, Darke County, Ohio. Tombstone
inscription reads 65 years 21 days.
John Miller
married Jane unknown last name. John and Jane are the parents
of Dorcas, James, William, John, Robert, George, Samuel E., Sarah,
Nancy and Jane. According to Montgomery County Ohio will abstracts
there is a will dated September 25,1825, recorded October 29,1825,
for John Miller listing his wife Jane MIller; sons James, William,
John, Robert, George and Samuel E.; daughters Sarah Conover, Nancy
Parrott, Jane and Dorcas Miller. Executor was son William and
Samuel King, witnesses were John Kerr, John Folkerth, and Jacob
Trullenger.
