Hannah Hancock
was born on July 3, 1709 in Cumberland, Providence County, Rhode
Island. She was one of five children born to Anthony Hancock
and Ruth MacCane. Hannah married
John Tower on November 22, 1739
in Wrentham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Hannah and John were
the parents of Jonathan, Freelove, Hannah, Molly, John, Deborah
and Gideon.
Anthony Hancock was born about
1650 probably in England. Anthony was a servant of William
Sumner of Dorchester, Massachusetts. On April 17, 1678 Anthony
married Sarah Wilson in Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.
Anthony and Sarah were the parents of William, Henry and Anthony.
A widowed Anthony married second Ruth MacCane
on February 27, 1701 in Wrentham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
Anthony and Ruth were the parents of Mary, William, Ruth, Hannah
and Silence.
